out with the old...

... and in with the new!

we bought a car! R and i have always known that our first major purchase as husband and wife would be a vehicle. you see, he was driving a very faithful Infiniti I-30 that he bought several years ago. The only problem was that it had 290,000 miles on it, was made in 1996 and wouldn't pass the state emissions inspection without several hundred dollars of work put into it. Oddly enough, the third problem on that list was the ultimate reason for our purchase....

The apartment complex has a policy that all vehicles on the property must be up-to-date on registration and inspection. When they told us we had 10 days to fix it before the car was getting towed, we knew we had to do something quickly.

Since we weren't quite ready to make a decision, R's grandparents were incredibly generous and let us borrow their car until we were ready. after crunching numbers, doing plenty of research and a couple of test drives, we knew exactly what we wanted. as always, the Lord was faithful and the car salesman we met was a believer, grew up in the same church R did, graduated from the same public high school and  lived not far from R's parents. He was honest and willing to work with us-- such a blessing!

the newest addition!

We now have a {significantly more} reliable, much shinier vehicle to call ours. we're so excited to think about all the memories yet to be made in it -- road trips, dates, singing contests, sweet conversation and so much more. you're welcome to ride anytime you like!

i have one happy husband.
that's all for now,
kate

p.s. i just wrote an entire post about a car. think that means i'm growing up....weird.
