He's so good.

+

equals one amazing night in Aggieland.

Breakaway was held on Kyle field tonight and it was pretty amazing. To start things off, no one gets to just use Kyle field. Add onto that the fact that it was supposed to POUR down rain all night, yet didn't rain a drop after 5:00 and you have an unusual situation to begin with. Throw in Aaron Ivey and 7,000 students singing praises to the Lord from the same metal bleachers used by 80,000 fans to watch and yell at Saturday football games, James' words of wisdom, and Ben's gift of communicating the Word to college students.. and it truly was a night to remember.

thank you God for your faithfulness. for providing venues. holding off the rain. reminding us to rely on you. the opportunity to pray openly. the gift of encouragement. a strong community.
give us passion.

celebration!

Happy Birthday Kristin!!
.

how thankful I am for her precious friendship. who'd have thought the first day of kindergarten we would look forward almost 17 years and be here. the Lord has walked us through so many things together and continues to use her to challenge me, convict me, make me laugh and pray with and for me.

our friendship is completely random. solid. challenging. refreshing. real. cherished. prayed over. and genuine. she is all of those things plus funny. self disciplined. gorgeous. in need of a chaperone. generous. and absolutely ridiculous.

love you, k!

welcome to the real world

it's that time of year-- school starts! everyone moves back to the random town of college station. the 4 roads that comprise the town are suddenly much more crowded and annoying. the wait for restaurants all around town triples. target is constantly packed and the school supply aisle looks like a tornado tore through it and left it bare.

and it has taken me this long for it to really set in that i'm not going to class on aug 31st this year. i am officially employed. full time. 40 hours a week. no month long christmas break or 3month summer vacation. it really is a crazy thought and one that will probably only become more real in the coming weeks...

hello, real world. you will take some serious adjusting to. but i'm blessed to be where i am. and excited to start life sans homework. and bring home a paycheck. although i'd still appreciate your prayers :)

californiaaaaaa!

we were in california last week and it was wonderful! i thought i'd share a few things i learned..

1. 70 degrees with a breeze beats triple digits any day..
2. my family can spend 7 solid days together and still smile. i'd say i'm beyond blessed
3. winding california roads do not go well with my stomach
4. watching the ocean really is one of my ultimate favorite things... peaceful.
5. san francisco is the best place in the world to people watch
6. when i perfect my michael jackson dancing skills, fisherman's wharf will be my stage. there's high compentition though.. gotta compete with the best.
7. there really are places where you get out of the airplane onto the tarmac-- that's not just movies. santa anna, califoria is one of them.
8. i admire authors. the way they can create a story that has me completely wrapped in another world fascinates me.
9. i love to read
10. my children are going to hate me. and my camera.
11. my sister is really funny. and my polar opposite. and a heavy packer :)
12. running up san francisco hills and pushing a small car is a killer workout
13. laughing about running up san francisco hills was worth the whole trip
14. i am an adult (?)
15. the golden gate bridge is a phenonemal structure

I'm a sucker...

For people's stories.

i LOVE to know what makes people tick, how they got where they are today and why they are the way are. i see the lord's creativity so evidently in that. he made us so completely different- we laugh over different things, cry over different things and get excited over different things- yet He loves us all completely the same. He's completely sold out for all of us. it's been on my mind all day. like, really? i can't quite wrap my head around that tonight. because while i love to learn about individuals and what they love, i'm terrible at loving them. and i certainly don't love them all the same and with the same passion each day.

i'm beyond thankful that i serve a creative God who loves deeper than i can comprehend. i need it. thank you, jesus.

here we go :)

so i'm excited! i never thought i would start a blog {those of you who know me know that words are not my thing} but here goes..

the fact that college is over has finally hit. it probably shouldn't have taken 3 months after graduation, but what can i say? as i was packing up my house this weekend, i was flooded with memories from the last four years in college station. how blessed i have been.

from the beginning of college, the Lord placed incredible people in my life and that trend continued throughout my time at A&M. thank you, friends, for blessing my life-- for pouring out your wisdom, laughter, encouragement and love. life in this town is not {and will not be} the same without you. here are a few of my favorite memories..

one of my favorite people ever and i in costa rica! we had a blast and the lord did some sweet things while we were there :)
it was hard to choose 1 picture from the 500ish i have of this night. these girls blessed me immensely..
phi lamb formal freshman year- so fun!!
good times and laughter in the mosher basement!

i'm getting pretty excited about staying college station-- it means sweet time with those of you who are still here and growth in a familiar place-- but coupled with that excitement is nervousness forrr sure.

i worry that loneliness will be my constant companion
i worry that it won't be easy to get plugged into community
i worry that i'll constantly compare it to college
i worry that i'll fail to hear and wholeheartely pursue the lord

but i know without a doubt that the Lord is faithful and will continue to be :) so bring it on.
