two down!

it's official.. i've finished two full semesters of grad school! these 10 weeks of summer classes have been long and stressful, but now it's finally summer! i haven't updated much because there really hasn't been much going on and i figured (all three of) you didn't want to read about industrial hygiene programs or tetrachloroethylene. that's about all i've written lately.

since i've updated last, i think i've spent a couple of weekends in dallas, a weekend in brason with my family, a wonderful week in colorado with Russell and some friends, been successfully suprised by Russell twice (which is a big deal if you know he can't keep secrets to save his life), miraculously gotten all my assignments turned in on time, caved and ordered dvr, learned how to swing a golf club, started working out again (bootcamp- ugh!) and even tried a couple of new recipes.

For a summer that feels like the longest so far in life, i think i can say (now safely on the other side of it) that it was okay. There are still days i'm lonely and ready to be out of this town for sure, but i've had company for most weekends and learned that i really can spend time alone- who knew? other than the Lord, of course. that being said, i'm great if i don't have to play this game again. and really thankful for my sweet/neurotic pup.

i wasn't paying him enough attention..

In my next two weeks i free time, i've got big plans. (okay, not really big..).

- dallas this weekend for some much needed family, rebecca and russell hang out time. and hopefully some TCs while i'm at it.
- to tackle a pinterest project. watching HGtV has gotten me on a redcorating/design kick and since i can't do anything in my apartment, i'm hoping this curbs the appetite. (the kicker to this one is that i just joined today and haven't quite figured out how it works..)
- read for pleasure!! if you've got any good ones, let me know.
- hang out with friends as they start getting back into town.
- try at least 4 new recipes. again, if you've got good ones, send 'em my way.

that's all for now,
kate
